The concept is somewhat different than in classical physics. The medium of reflection is more internal, more sentient, and is different than the medium of refraction.

a, b > reflection > (a+b), (a-b) (sub-waves merge and create child waves)
a, b > refraction > a, b (sub-waves or waves interfere but don't change, like in air or water)

The concept of Guna Trikona is not altered, but the internal reflections are also shown. So what are the rates of the reflected and refracted waves during the bifurcation?


First we calculate the bifurcation or doubling:
a -> 2a, b -> 2b, c -> 2c

The refracted waves are all the possible sums and differences of the 3 internal waves, positive or zero

Now we can do the math with numbers, e.g.: a - b + c = 20 = 2a; -a + b + c = 32 = 2b; a + b + c = 52 = 2c; and finally a + b - c = 0.

In physics terms, the 3 external waves (2a, 2b and 2c) and "0" at the center together form the spectrum (Fourier analysis) of the composite of the 3 reflective waves, while the sum total strength remains the same. The challenge is therefore to express each bifurcation (i.e. of a into 2a, etc..) and zero in terms of sums and differences of the rates ("frequencies") of a, b and c.

How can this be done? The wave rates are all based on one single ratio. And the ratio b / a = c / b = "Phi", the Golden Ratio (1.618). This ratio will yield all the proper values. In the example the numbers are rounded for simplicity.

In terms of Quantum Physics, Golden Ratio synchronizes the ground state, creating a potential well and oscillatory modes in a different, and arguably more natural way than the "Mexican hat potential". This hidden, synchronized state is hypothized to be of microvitic nature - that is, it has the potential of steering energy "intelligently" into the creation.

Vice versa, the 3 internal waves represent the external waves in the plane of reflection, that is, "that which has no reality in the absolute sense, but is superior to its effects, and inferred by them". This is the "Purusa", hidden inside the Guna Trikona. None other than the Golden Ratio among sub-waves creates a Purusa inside.
